Concept of “Time” Re-appraised
November Pros from Dover show “uneffected” say experts.
On Saturday night, at around 2.00am, one hour disappeared countrywide from watches, clocks and conversations about how long things take. The impact of this event has yet to be assessed but emergency measures are already being taken in order to contain the crisis while scientists try to estimate the implications of the missing hour. As usual, the entertainment industry has been quickest to respond: Universal Pictures has announced that, for the time being, Another 48 Hours will be reduced by one hour given that it is now believed to have begun one hour before the end of the previous 48 Hours; the makers of the hit American TV show 24 have acted quickly and an episode has been filmed in which Jack Bauer reads quietly for an hour. High Noon will temporarily be renamed Elevenses.
The forthcoming Pros from Dover show (see fig. 1) remains unaffected and details can be found below. Just to be on the safe side, however, why not get there an hour earlier and drink heavily? Good luck and may God have mercy on our souls.
P.S Good News! In addition to the information outlined below, Tony Law will be dropping by. Everyone here very pleased.

Pros From Dover - The New Season Begins…
After a three month Summer break most of which we spent in France, while a French exchange-sketch group came and lived with our Mum and Dad, The Pros from Dover take up our monthly residency…
Why not join us? You and I have a lot of catching up to do. A LOT.
“I can’t afford it”
Wrong! Alarmist news stories describing long cues forming outside Lowdown at the Albany made up of people desperate to withdraw their entrance money are hugely exaggerated. That happened once, alright? Do not panic.
“I am doing something else that night”
Wrong! The people you may be thinking of spending the evening with are not truly your friends. In any case, if you embark on your intended fling with, say, Ramon/Karen from Human Resources, what do you expect to happen? Mm? Lest we forget, he/she is married… to Tony/Janet. You are a homewrecker in waiting. Come and be among those who love/tolerate you.
“I might not like it”
Wrong! Fear of change and the shock of the new are the enemies of progress. Embrace the future. But leave it at that. Remember, it is married… to Tony/Janet.
“Ok… who is guesting with you then?”
This month’s guests are Tom Meeten (Star Stories, Blunder, Matthew and Tone), Congress of Oddities (The Alternative Women’s Institute),Tony Law (The Dinks, Ealing Live), and Dave Cohen (writer for Have I Got News For You, The News Quiz, The 15 Minute Musical.)
